Economy under pressure due to Corona: Pervaiz

Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said that businessmen are like backbone of the economy but due to Covid-19 pandemic, national economy is under heavy pressure.
“The businessmen community is working sincerely to put the economy back on track and the government is duty bound to immediately resolve problems faced by businessmen so that the wheel of economy could be keep moving to jack up the economic situation.”
Ch Pervaiz stated this during his meeting with businessmen community members Farhat Saigol and Roman Saigol who called on his at the Assembly Chambers on Friday.
The visiting businessmen also apprised him about the difficulties being faced by the community.
CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES IN 10 NEW CITIES OF PUNJAB
Under Naya Pakistan Housing Project, the Punjab government has decided to start construction of houses in 10 new cities of Punjab include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Chiniot, Chishtian, Kharian, Patoki, Hazro and Lodhran in collaboration with developers, builders and investors.
The Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mahmood Rashid said that various investors, developers and builders have approached the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) to join the Naya Pakistan Housing Project and the process of regulation on these applications is underway.
The housing schemes of these builders will be approved and the construction of low-cost houses will be started in these cities as soon as possible.
The Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mahmood Rashidi said that as per policy the provision of subsidy of Rs.
Three lac to the low-income segment of the society will provide relief in constructing their houses.
He further stated that according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, under the Naya Pakistan Housing Project government has extended full cooperation with private builders and developers and housing-related policies have been formulated in consultation with all the stakeholders.
