Several online posts claimed 2% Easypaisa service charge left Pakistani users wondering if their bank-to-wallet transfers would now cost more. The claim sparked confusion, prompting the company to reposnd.
Easypaisa management said no such 2% fee has been introduced for bank-to-wallet transfers. The company says customers can still transfer funds from their bank accounts to Easypaisa wallets without an additional service charge. The reported 2% fee does not apply to money being transferred into an Easypaisa wallet.
Easypaisa has also clarified that customers can continue to receive money in their Easypaisa accounts without an additional charge, according to the company’s statement. This directly contradicts social media posts suggesting that users are now automatically losing 2% of incoming funds.
The controversy appears to have originated from information circulating on social media about changes to Easypaisa’s fees and charges. With digital payments and mobile wallets becoming increasingly common, claims about new transaction fees can spread rapidly — particularly when screenshots, posts or messages are shared without verification.
Easypaisa has therefore urged customers not to rely on unverified social media claims regarding pricing, fees or service charges.
