In Wana, Lower South Waziristan District, the issuance of e-domicile has transformed from a promised convenience to a harrowing ordeal, particularly for youth and women. Since its inception on March 21, 2024, the e-domicile initiative, mandated by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), has failed to alleviate the bureaucratic burdens on the local populace. Instead, it has compounded their challenges.

The requirement of a B Form for online e-domicile applications has emerged as a primary source of frustration for citizens. Under the current regulations, a B Form is mandatory for e-domicile issuance, yet obtaining a B Form proves elusive for individuals above 18 years of age. This bureaucratic impasse has ensnared countless residents in a bureaucratic maze, hindering their ability to acquire essential documentation, including domicile and identity cards.

According to the report, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhowa has made B Form mandatory for creating e-domicile online, while at the same time, domicile has been declared mandatory for making an identity card. Said in the report, that at this time domicile cannot be issued without B Form, and B Form cannot be made for people above 18 years of age. However, due to this, obtaining domicile, B Form and identity card has become a headache for common people.

Rather, the students admitted in schools and colleges are facing severe difficulties, while common people including students have to visit the franchise or assistant commissioner’s office once a day but go back to their homes without working. On the other hand, e-faciliteis in-charge Farid Wazir told media that the Khyber Pakhtunkhowa government had announced on March 21.
