Police apprehended a DSP and his son on Thursday after a police vehicle, allocated to the official, was allegedly used in a robbery. The DSP and his son stand accused of utilizing the police vehicle during a robbery incident in the GulshanIqbal area of Karachi. According to police officials, Abbas, a citizen captured in CCTV footage aiding the robbers, was also detained but later released after providing his statement. The accused robbers reportedly altered the number plate of the police vehicle.
In his statement to the police, Abbas, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, stated, “I was just an ordinary citizen of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, the policemen asked me to help them shift the items in the police mobile.”
