Wife of a drugs smuggler was killed while he was arrested along with his sister with huge quantity of narcotics after an exchange of fire here on Saturday. A cop was also injured in the firing. DSP Charsadda Bashir Yousafzai said that the police signaled to stop a suspected car at Sardaryab check post in Charsadda.
The motorists instead of stopping sped that scene. The police chased the car after which culprit started firing injuring a policeman identified as Ajmal which led to an encounter. In retaliatory firing of police a woman identified as Robina, wife of car rider drugs smuggler was injured who later succumbed to her wounds in a hospital of Peshawar while the smuggler Laiq Khan and his sister Laiba were arrested.—INP
