ISLAMABAD – Ace Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik proposed NATO-style alliance of Muslim nations to address the ongoing Palestinian issue.
During key visit to Pakistan, the founder of Peace TV called for unity among Muslim nations, saying 57 Islamic countries should come together under similar framework to enhance their collective strength.
He highlighted NATO’s principle of mutual defense, where an offensive against is viewed as an attack on all, and expressed concern about the current divisions among Muslim nations that hinder effective action.
During conversation, he outlined several steps Muslims can take to support Palestine. He further advocated increased awareness through social media campaigns, and called for organized peaceful protests, stressing their potential impact.
The globally famous Islamic scholar urged Muslims to boycott Israeli products and to offer financial support to Palestinians, regardless of the amount, as the intention behind the contribution is what counts in Islam.
Muslims should seek legal recourse against Israel in international courts and emphasized the need for media outlets to amplify the Palestinian cause, he said, and concluded with a reminder that adherence to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah is basic for Ummah.
