Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid has given the task to Primary and Secondary Healthcare special secretary Ajmal Bhatti regarding reactivation of Punjab Health Facilitation Management Company.
She gave the instruction while presiding over a high-level meeting at PHFMC head office. Primary and Secondary Healthcare Provincial Secretary Muhammad Usman Younas, Additional Secretary Development Umer Farooq and other officers were also present on this occasion.
The special secretary briefed the minister about medical facilities being provided to the patients of the province through PHFMC. Additional secretary development briefed in detailed newly constructed trauma center. Dr Yasmeen Rashid further said that under PHFMS facility of every district should be reviewed according to its demography survey.
She said that basic health unit is being made operational round the clock under Chief Minister Health Initiative. Best treatment facilities will be provided in far-flung areas by setting up more trauma centers in the province.
She also visited the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and inspected the medial facilities being provided to the patients.
She was briefed by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital MS Dr Ehtisham about the facilities being available to the patients. VC Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof Amir Zaman were also present on this occasion.
Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that every single patient of the hospital should get equal treatment facilities availability of medicines and cleanliness condition of public hospitals is being monitored. She said that provision of best treatment facilities to the patients is the top priority of the government.
Later, Provincial Minister delivered a lecture in the hospital. VC Prof. Amir Zaman Khan, Dr. Hussain Jafer, Yasmeen Ehsan and other concerned officers were also present on this occasion. R. Yasmeen Rashid further mentioned that Punjab Thalassemia Prevention Programme is the biggest programme of the world.
Free treatment is being provided to thousands of child patients of thalassemia. She stressed the importance of fatal medicines. She said that foundation of a healthy society can only be laid by ensuring child and mother health.
