The caretaker provincial health minister, Dr. Javed Akram, made a detailed visit to various MDCAT examination centers for admission in medical and dental colleges.
Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan, Special Secretary Operations Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Raja Mansoor Ahmad, Special Secretary Development Primary and Secondary HealthCare Department Fatima Sheikh, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University, Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences Professor Dr. Ahsan Wahid Rathor, Vice Chancellor Government College University Professor Dr. Asghar Zaidi and Principal Ameer ud din Medical College Professor Dr. Sardar Zafar Al Farid were present. Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram visited various examination centers and reviewed the arrangements. On this occasion, Dr. Javed Akram also met the parents of the male and female students who had come for the MDCAT exams. The parents of the children were sitting outside the examination centers, reciting the Holy Quran and praying for the success of the children.
The caretaker provincial health minister, Dr. Javed Akram, while talking to the media at GC University, said that 68,864 candidates are participating in the MD CAT exams across Punjab under the auspices of the University of Health Sciences. 10,014 candidates are participating in 9 examination centers in Lahore. MDCAT exam is being conducted in Government College University, University of Education Township, Government Advocacy College for Women, Government Graduate College for Women Gulberg in Lahore, Government Graduate College for Women Township, DPS Model Town, Queen Mary Graduate College, DPS Township and Lahore College for Women University. The respective district police is ensuring security arrangements in all the MDCAT examination centers. The caretaker health minister said that Section 144 has been implemented in all the examination centers. Candidates will be allowed to take the question paper with them after the test. The arrangements are satisfactory in all the MD CAT examination centers in Lahore. In addition, it is spending its own funds. 100 percent merit is being ensured in the MD CAT exams. The series of admissions in medical colleges will be started this month.
Vice-Chancellor University of Health Sciences Professor Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathor expressed his opinion and said that 55% marks must be obtained for admission in MBBS. 50% marks must be obtained for admission in BDS.
Vice-Chancellor Government College University Professor Dr. Asghar Zaidi said that MD CAT exams are being time restricted. We are in full coordination with University of Health Sciences regarding MDCAT exams.
