Dr Firdous blames past rulers for price hike

The Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday has termed the monitory corruption committed by the past rulers of the country as the main cause of current price hike and inflation.

Addressing a public gathering at Dhallewali near Marala Headworks, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan further blamed that the past rulers of the country had cheated the masses by acquiring huge loans worth several billion US dollars to accomplish useless and costly projects like orange train and metro buses.

She said that the loans taken by the past rulers had severely damaged the national economy and new loans were required now to pay back the installments of those past loans.

She added that the past rulers had taken huge loans in the name of the progress and prosperity of the country but actually they had utilized those loans for their personal benefit.—Faisal Khawer Butt
