LAHORE – A massive 2,800-Kanal land scam surfaced as Pakistan’s anti-graft watchdog targets multiple housing schemes over transfer of government land using forged practices.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) started formal probe into massive land fraud involving aginat Divine Developers and several housing schemes including Green Avenue, Divine Homes, Divine Center, Divine Mega I & II, Cricket Colony, and Khuda Bakhsh Colony.
Officials said around 350 acres of state owned land in Mouza Gohawa (Tehsil Cantt), Mouza Kohar, Kair Khurd, Ajodhyapur, Mouza Charar, and Sehjpal were transferred illegally.
The main suspects named in the investigation include Amjad Aziz, Majid Aziz, Muhammad Younis, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Akmal, Muhammad Afzal, and their relatives. The group allegedly set up more than a dozen companies to facilitate the fraudulent land acquisitions.
NAB has warned the public against buying or selling property in the affected areas. Victims of related fraud are urged to report their cases to NAB Lahore.
Additionally, the bureau has ordered local revenue officials to submit complete records of the disputed land. Moving forward, any property transactions involving these areas will require prior clearance from NAB. Investigations are also underway into the role of government officials suspected of aiding the illegal transfers.
