Propaganda has been an integral tool in India’s foreign policy for years, and the latest spate of actions surrounding the Pahalgam incident serves as yet another example of its relentless pursuit to tarnish Pakistan’s image on the global stage.

Hence, decision by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to send a high-level delegation to key global capitals is a timely and necessary move to expose these baseless claims and stand firm against India’s ongoing campaign of misinformation.

The selection of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to lead this delegation is both fitting and judicious.

As a former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto represented Pakistan with distinction at global forums.

During tensions with India, he effectively presented Pakistan’s stance.

Bilawal’s leadership, alongside experienced diplomats in the delegation, is an effective way to ensure that Pakistan’s perspective is presented clearly and assertively, especially at a time when India is stepping up its hostile rhetoric.

The delegation’s primary mission will be to high-light Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability while exposing India’s role in perpetuating instability.

A critical aspect that the delegation should emphasize is India’s refusal to investigate incidents like Pahalgam, which reflects a deliberate attempt to evade accountability and obscure the truth.

Highlighting this lack of transparency would expose Modi government’s unwillingness to pursue justice and its broader agenda of deflection through propaganda.

Additionally, the delegation should also draw international attention to India’s state-sponsored terrorism and its destabilising actions within Pakistan — issues that lie at the heart of regional unrest and must be firmly addressed on global platforms.

Beyond sending a diplomatic delegation, we must adopt a broader and more comprehensive strategy to counter India’s propaganda.

Strengthening media outreach and leveraging digital platforms to challenge misinformation should be vital components of this effort.

By effectively countering Indian narratives and promoting Pakistan’s stance with clarity and consistency, we can begin to shift the international dialogue and foster a more balanced understanding of the situation.
