DIG Traffic launches School Road Safety Campaign

The All Private School Management Association, in partnership with the Consumers Association and the Sindh Traffic Police, launched the School Road Safety Campaign 2020, which was officially inaugurated by DIG Traffic Police Javed Mehr in a ceremony held at Water Pump Federal B Area on Monday. Addressing the ceremony, Mehr said the campaign consisted of four steps to raise awareness of traffic laws among school children. In the first phase, we will raise awareness im 100 schools of Karachi South and Karachi Central in the next two months in two stages, In the third phase school children will wear traffic police uniforms and control the traffic in the supervision of our officers. Mehr said that strict implementation of the traffic rules is a benefit to all of us. Speaking at the ceremony, Consumers Association Chairman Kokab Iqbal said that breaking the traffic signal meant that you put your life in danger, but nobody realized it, because of the traffic police’s implementation of laws we have seen improvement. While completing the campaign before Ramadan, in the fourth phase, traffic police personnel stationed at various locations will be presented with certificates and flowers etc by the representatives of private schools association and other associations to encourage the officers. All Private School Management Association Chairman Syed Tariq Shah, Vice Chairman Atiq Naseer Shamsi, President Furqan Bilal, DMC Central Chairman Rehan Hashmi and others also spoke. Later, DIG Traffic Javed Mehr gave shields and certificates to police officers Aijazuddin Siddique, Farah Ambreen, Muhammad Arshad Siddique, Nadeem Farooqui, Saeed Arain, Asrar Changezi, Jaffer abbas, Tahir Khan, Azam Baloch, Ghulam Raza, Muhammad Ashraf, Mohsin Bilal, Imran Khan, Asad Ayub and others.
