ISLAMABAD – A video clip circulating on social media triggered controversy after resident of capital alleged that Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi’s son got land from Islamabad Police for his “Bonté” restaurant in the Diplomatic Enclave.
In the viral clip, the individual accused Abbasi’s son of fraud and claimed that he has evidence which he intends to present publicly during an upcoming National Assembly session. The man further asserted that he has documentary and digital proof, urging the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Field Marshal, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the matter.

As the clip gained traction online, it quickly ignited debate and controversy across social media platforms.
Responding to the allegations, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi issued a strong rebuttal, addressing claims regarding the alleged lease of commercial space for the “Bonté” restaurant in Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad, reportedly linked to his son Hammas Hanif.
Abbasi rejected the accusations outright, calling them “baseless and uncalled-for” against serving federal minister. He added that such claims amount to serious defamation and insisted that his son is an independent businessman who acquired the commercial property from a state institution in a lawful and merit-based process, in full compliance with rules and regulations.
He further challenged the man, that if any legal evidence exists to support the allegations, he is prepared to face legal proceedings. Abbasi also warned that his legal team would pursue the matter if the individual does not withdraw what he termed “false and baseless allegations.”
