Dharejo launches tree plantation campaign in industrial zones

Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Jam IkramullahDharejo, emphasized the need for a large-scale tree plantation campaign in industrial zones across Sindh to combat environmental pollution and global warming. During the inauguration of the campaign, Dharejo highlighted the urgency of addressing these issues, particularly in countries like Pakistan.

He urged industrialists to establish green belts in front of their industries to mitigate pollution. The event was also attended by MD SITE Ghazanfar Ali Qadri and association leaders ShaheenIlyas, ShehanshahAlam, and AamirSarfraz, who welcomed the initiative. Provincial Minister Jam IkramullahDharejo also inaugurated Go Green Plantation Drive on this occasion. SITE Superhighway Association President ShaheenIlyas said that under this campaign, about one lakh trees would be planted, while in the first phase, 50,000 trees would be planted. Speaking on this occasion, Provincial Minister Jam IkramullahDharejo said that the government would provide all possible cooperation to eliminate environmental pollution.

He added, ‘ It is a matter of happiness that more than 700 industries are active in phase one, while more than 500 industries are also active in phase two’. He said that Karachi is the economic center of Pakistan. Water, sewage, encroachments and other problems facing the site super highway will be solved. Jam IkramullahDharejo said that the industrial zones of the entire country should also plant trees on a large scale in their areas.

Every effort should be made to increase the site’s revenue. He said that unless the respective associations of industrialists were satisfied with the work done by the contractors on the quality of the development works in the industrial zones.
