Abdul Rasheed Solangi, Director General of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), visited the Korangi Association of Trade and Industries (KATI) today, where he outlined crucial steps aimed at fostering industrial growth and addressing construction-related challenges faced by industrialists.
Accompanied by key officials from the SBCA and the Department of Industries, Solangi met with KATI members, including former President Muhammad Danish Khan and current President Zahid Saeed, who highlighted various issues affecting the industrial community. In response, Solangi announced the establishment of a dedicated SBCA Help Desk at KATI for one month to facilitate industrialists and provide quick solutions.
He emphasized the Sindh Government’s commitment to industrial development, directing SBCA officials to expedite the approval process for building and completion plans, particularly in the Korangi industrial zone. Pending cases were reviewed, with instructions given to resolve procedural gaps in collaboration with KATI.
Solangi also pledged to address other concerns raised by KATI members, including issues with other civic departments, and promised to escalate these matters to the Provincial Minister for Local Government. In a significant development, Solangi unveiled plans for the beautification of the Korangi Industrial Zone, akin to the Shahrah-e-Faisal model.
The initiative will include aesthetic improvements to industrial exteriors, enhanced street lighting, and the creation of green belts to promote a cleaner and more vibrant industrial environment.
Emphasizing safety, Solangi urged industrialists to comply with fire safety regulations and other precautionary measures to ensure secure working conditions. Following the meeting at KATI, Solangi met with the Deputy Commissioner of Korangi to reaffirm the Sindh Government’s commitment to resolving industrialists’ concerns, fostering growth, and enhancing the industrial zone’s infrastructure through collaborative efforts.
