Lt Gen Chaudhry shared details of multiple recent militant attacks, saying civilians and security personnel had paid a heavy price while security forces responded with decisive operations.

The military spokesperson said the first incident took place on the night of July 4–5, when militants, identified by the military as Fitna al Khawarij, allegedly attacked civilians in the Hanna Urak area. According to Lt Gen Chaudhry, local residents put up strong resistance, forcing the attackers to retreat. He said the assault resulted in the martyrdom of four civilians, while six others were injured.

He said terrorists also targeted a police checkpoint in Ziarat district earlier this week. The attack claimed the lives of nine police personnel, including two station house officers (SHOs). He added that security forces immediately launched a clearance operation, during which 15 militants were killed, according to official figures.

These incidents shows persistent security challenges facing the country and reaffirmed that security forces remain committed to pursuing militant groups and safeguarding the lives of citizens.

The highly anticipated media briefing comes hours after security sources announced that 19 militants, identified by officials as members of Fitna al-Hindustan, were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan. The operation, according to the same sources, also claimed the lives of 11 Pakistani soldiers, who were martyred while carrying out their duties.

Security sources said the operation was launched after receiving credible intelligence about the presence of armed militants between Jhao Cross and Kararo on the N-25 highway. The militants were allegedly blocking the highway and extorting money from travelers and local residents when security forces moved in.

Officials described the operation as a decisive response to militant activity, saying it reflects the security forces’ commitment to protecting civilians, securing key highways, and countering threats to peace in Balochistan.

All eyes are now on the upcoming press conference, where Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry is expected to provide further details on the operation, the security situation in the province, and the military’s ongoing efforts against militant groups.
