In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has condemned in strong terms the rising incidents of Indian state terrorism and the ongoing killing spree of civilians by the Indian troops in the territory.

The DFP in a statement issued in Srinagar, raising serious concern over the worsening human rights situation in IIOJK, said the continued violence and bloodshed in the restive region merits urgent attention of the world community.

Terming the recent killing of youth in different areas of the valley as part of the Indian government’s systematic genocide campaign, it appealed to the international human rights organizations to take stock of the situation and help stop the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory.

It said the Indian troops, operating under a shield of draconian laws, have unleashed a reign of terror in Kashmir. “Innocent people are being harassed and humiliated during cordon and search operations whereas extra-judicial killings, enforced disappearances and killing of youth in fake encounters are being used by India as a war tactic to suppress the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for right to self-determination,” the DFP deplored.

It also expressed concern over the continued illegal detention of its party Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah and other Hurriyat leaders, rights defenders, journalists and civil society activists, who have been arrested before and after 5th August 2019 when the Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed Kashmir’s special status and imposed military siege in the territory.—KMS
