ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar today called on US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker at Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss strengthening Pakistan-US ties, expanding economic cooperation, and addressing pressing regional challenges.
Dar underscored the urgent need to increase investment in Pakistan’s IT and critical minerals sectors, highlighting country’s growing potential as a hub for cutting-edge industries. He also welcomed the rising interest of American companies in Pakistan’s economy.
As a landmark example of successful economic collaboration, Dar specifically pointed to establishment of Google Chrome assembly line in Haripur, describing it as a model for future US-Pakistan cooperation.
The meeting also covered key regional and global developments, with both sides reviewing ongoing peace efforts in Gaza and assessing avenues for joint engagement on international issues.
Both parties stressed importance of continued dialogue, agreeing to maintain regular contact to pursue shared objectives and further strengthen bilateral ties.
The high-level meeting shows Pakistan’s intent to deepen economic and strategic collaboration with the United States, particularly in technology, critical minerals, and regional peace initiatives.
