LAHORE – Dense fog continues to blanket various areas in Lahore, significantly affecting both air and road travel.
The city’s flight operations have been disrupted for over eight hours, with multiple flights canceled, including those bound for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, and Karachi.
Additionally, four flights were diverted to Islamabad due to the poor visibility.
The fog has also caused major traffic disruptions in Lahore, with several key routes becoming impassable.
The M2 motorway from Bulkser to Kot Momin has been closed, along with the M3 motorway from Faizpur to Samundri. The M11 Sialkot motorway is also blocked due to the thick fog, hampering the movement of vehicles.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the fog has reduced visibility in many areas, further complicating road conditions. As a result, authorities have shut down multiple motorways at various locations to prevent accidents.
The M2 motorway from Lahore to Kot Momin and the M11 Lahore-Sialkot motorway remain closed. Traffic on the M3 motorway from Faizpur to Samundri has also been halted.
In addition to these closures, the M4 motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad has been completely shut down for all types of traffic, and larger vehicles are prohibited from traveling between Pindi Bhattian and Abdul Hakim.
The motorway police have stated that these closures are necessary to ensure public safety and prevent accidents in the dense fog. With visibility severely limited, authorities are advising travelers to stay updated on road conditions and delay their journeys if possible.
