I am disappointed that High Court of Zimbabwe banned demonstration that was planned for August 16 in Zimbabwe. The banning of demonstration shows that the president of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa doesn’t want Zimbabwe to be a democratic country. Zimbabweans have a constitutional right to voice their concern for economic crisis that have led to shortage of electricity, unavailability of clean drinking water in towns and cities.
If government continues to ban legal demonstrations, most Zimbabweans will give up all the hope and escape to South Africa, USA, Canada and Australia. It’s time for the Zimbabwean government to admit that they have failed to resuscitate the economy and form coalition government with opposition parties to properly manage the crises.
