In a move reminiscent of practices in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan Airport Authority has transferred a decommissioned Boeing 737 aircraft from Karachi to Hyderabad using a long trailer. The aircraft, which has a capacity of 350 seats, is being transported on a ten-wheeler truck, specifically a 40-foot trailer. This operation falls under the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Airport Authority, which is facilitating the transfer along the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway. The aircraft is being dismantled for transport, and once it reaches Hyderabad, it will be utilized for training purposes at the Pakistan Airport Authority’s Training Center. At the Hyderabad Training Center (HTC), the aircraft will serve as a platform for various training activities, including firefighting drills and other emergency response training. Notably, the wings, engines, and wheels of the aircraft have already been removed to facilitate its movement. This initiative not only aims to utilize the aircraft for educational purposes but also contributes to the development of aviation training in Pakistan.
