Dar Urges Urgent Measures To De Escalate Regional Tensions In Meeting With British High Commissioner

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan-UK ties, and regional security came under renewed diplomatic focus as British High Commissioner Jane Marriott met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Two sides shared views on Pakistan-UK bilateral relations, future engagements and regional developments. Deputy Prime Minister and Jane Marriott welcomed positive progress in bilateral ties and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Both discussed upcoming engagements and activities between Islamabad and London, with a pledge to maintain momentum of bilateral relations through continued high-level contacts and cooperation at various levels. The regional situation also featured prominently in the talks as the two sides exchanged views on the rapidly evolving dynamics in the region.

Amid regional tensions, Dar stressed the importance of efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace and stability. He said negotiations and diplomacy remain the only viable way forward for ending tensions and addressing regional disputes.

Dar also underscored the need for sustained dialogue and diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts and prevent further escalation, reaffirming Pakistan’s emphasis on peaceful engagement and diplomatic solutions.

The latest meeting shows continued diplomatic engagement between Islamabad and London as both countries seek to deepen cooperation and maintain regular high-level contacts.

Foreign Office said the process of future engagements and high-level consultations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom would continue, with the aim of further advancing bilateral cooperation.

Jane Marriott has previously held discussions with Dar and other top officials on Pakistan-UK relations, bilateral cooperation and recent high-level contacts between the two countries.
