Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will hold talks with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington today, with discussions likely to focus on the Middle East.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the two leaders will review bilateral ties and discuss important regional and international developments.
The meeting will also explore ways to enhance cooperation in key sectors of mutual interest and highlight Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to advance regional peace and stability through dialogue.

The FO noted that Dar’s visit to Washington demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding and multifaceted relationship with the United States.
Following the completion of his official engagements in the US capital, Dar is scheduled to return to Islamabad later the same day.
Confirmation of the meeting comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East after renewed confrontation between the United States and Iran. Pakistan has been actively involved in mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran since the conflict erupted in the region on February 28.
Iran recently claimed responsibility for targeting a US military base in Kuwait in response to American strikes on what Washington described as an Iranian drone operation near the Strait of Hormuz.
Although the latest attacks were limited in scale, they underscored the fragile nature of ongoing efforts to transform the ceasefire introduced in early April into a lasting agreement capable of ending the three-month conflict, which has claimed thousands of lives and disrupted a key global shipping corridor.
