The Ambassador of Denmark to Islamabad Mr. Jakob Linulf on Tuesday has termed Sialkot as the true world leader in the field of manufacturing high-quality soccer balls and exporting them to the entire world.
Mr. Jakob Linulf said that during his visit to a leading local sports goods factory, owned by the ex- president Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Khurram Anwar Khawaja. Mr. Jakob Linulf also said that Sialkot was unrivalled in the world for making top class soccer balls in particular and a wide range of other sports good in general, for which the credit could rightly be given to its positively ambitious and innovative industrialists and the community of the highly skilled and hard-working labor force.
He said that the industrialists and the industrial laborers of Sialkot had been doing great job for the last so many decades and through their activities they had not only earned a unique status and respect for their city but had also earned so many billions of dollars for their national exchequer as valuable foreign exchange.
Dr Khurram Anwar Khawaja told Mr. Jakob Linulf that his deceased father Anwar Khawaja in 1975 had started making soccer balls for a leading firm in Denmark (Select) which had been successfully continuing and currently their third generation was involved in the business.
