HOUSTON – A Pakistani student was critically injured in a road accident in Houston city of the United States of America.
The student identified as 25-year-old Dania Zaheer, who is the MBA student, was hit by a vehicle while the driver managed to flee the scene.
Dania, who hails from Karachi city of Pakistan, has been shifted to hospital as she suffered fractures in six different bones. She is scheduled to undergo a major surgery at a hospital in Houston today, Friday.
The injured student said that the driver did not even stop to check if she was alive or dead. She said the accident has shattered all her dreams.
The Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, Aftab Chaudhry, and others people from Pakistani community visited her at the hospital and prayed for her speedy recovery. They assured her of full support.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed sorrow over the incident and directed the Pakistan officials to provide full support to Dania Zaheer.
He said the government is ready to provide assistance the student’s parents if they want to visit to the US to look after their daughter.
