The Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Investment, Industries & Production and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood on Saturday has termed Sialkot as the most important industrial hub of the country which had earned huge honor in the world due to its unique and export-oriented culture of small and medium entrepreneurs.
While addressing to the local industrialists and exporters at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Abdul Razak Dawood further said that in order to strengthen the economy of Pakistan and to create more and more jobs the culture of SMEs must be promoted and spread in all parts of the country.
He stressed upon the industrialists and exporters to focus their attention towards the enhancement of the exports of, not only the goods, but the services also. He added further that currently the exports of the services from Pakistan were far below the actual potential of the country.
Abdul Razak Dawood opined that diversification of the products and search of new and non-traditional markets in South America, Central America and Central Asia could greatly help in boosting the national exports. The Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Investment, Industries & Production and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood said that the rationalization of tariff was too much important as tariff affected the exports directly and inversely.
He said that the government was busy in planning to minimize all other duties, except the custom duty, in order to benefit the sector of the SMEs and to reduce the ‘cost of doing business’ which was too high in Pakistan.
