The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), in coordination with various law enforcement agencies, has successfully thwarted a major terror plot aimed at Pakistan’s Independence Day. The operation led to the arrest of two terrorists who were planning attacks across multiple locations. At a press conference, CTD – DSP Syed Asghar Shah detailed the operation conducted on Larkana’sNaudero Road, which resulted in the capture of two prominent terrorists: Jameel Ahmed Sheikh from Dockri and SalahuddinJatoi from Baqrani. Both individuals are affiliated with a banned organization. DSP Shah revealed that the terrorists had received advanced training in Afghanistan for the construction and deployment of explosives. The arrested suspects were also implicated in a cracker attack on the ASP office in Larkana on May 29.

The duo was reportedly preparing for several bombings in Larkana on August 14 and had been surveilling key figures. During the raid, authorities recovered half a kilo of explosives, detonators, hand grenades, and other related materials. The suspects, already wanted for various acts of terrorism, face charges under the Anti-Terrorism and Explosive Act.
