CSC celebrates 71st anniversary of Sino-Pak diplomatic relationship

China Study Center (CSC), University of Peshawar (UoP), in collaboration with Pakistan China Friendship Association (KPC), organized a seminar themed “Celebrating 71st Anniversary of Pakistan China Diplomatic Relations 1951-2022” at the CSC conference hall, Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.

The seminar was attended by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director China Study Center, UoP, Prof Dr. Zahid Anwar, Secretary-general of Pakistan China Friendship Association (KPC) Syed Ali Nawaz Gilani and officials from different departments of the University.

Addressing the seminar, Prof Dr. Zahid Anwar said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is forming its economic model through cooperation in infrastructure development, energy, science and technology, agriculture, and more importantly social-economic development.

Dr. Saima, Department of International Relations, said that Pakistan’s location strategically is very important. Pakistan and China are sharing the concept of development and progress and the bilateral relationship is based on mutual trust and win-win cooperation.

Dr. Kashif Saeed, Department of Economics, talked about China Pakistan diplomatic relations and said the special economic zones (SEZs) in Pakistan under CPEC can change the destiny of Pakistan.

He said that Rashakai Special Economic Zone can uplift the economy of Pakistan, particularly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. And SEZs will help in creating jobs and will facilitate the local firms, he added. Ms. Sumera Farid in her address said that investment in the people is the need of the day and more investment in Pakistan is expected for people’s welfare and development.

A one-minute silence was observed in respect of Chinese teachers who were targeted in a terrorist attack in Karachi. At the end of the seminar, a cake-cutting ceremony was also held.
