Sindh government has made a decision regarding the appointments of chairmen for the Intermediate Boards in the province, although an existing court injunction is currently hindering these appointments. Barrister ZeeshanEdhi highlighted that the court’s stay order poses a significant obstacle to the appointments of the board heads.

The Sindh High Court has imposed a ban on the appointment of chairmen for the intermediate boards following a petition that raises concerns about the educational environment in the province. The Sindh government has urged for an immediate hearing on the matter to facilitate the appointment process. In response to the government’s request, the court has scheduled the hearing for October 10.

The petition has named several parties, including the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and the heads of the Boards and Universities departments in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Mirpur Khas. The search committee had published an advertisement for the chairmanship positions in 2021, after which they shortlisted the applicant’s name for consideration.

The petitioner, who is currently stationed in Islamabad and is also a published author, has raised concerns over the appointment of individuals who previously failed their exams to lead the boards. The petitioner’s counsel has requested that the other chairmen be restrained from continuing their duties until the resolution of the case.
