In a significant legal development, the Sessions Court in Karachi, presided over by Judge Hon. A.R. Tunio, has dismissed an application filed by IshtiaqBaig, ex-husband of the late iconic singer Nazia Hassan. Baig had sought to intervene in an ongoing legal dispute involving the Hassan family’s property, but the court ruled against his claim.

Judge Tunio concluded that Baig had no legal standing or interest in the matter, which pertains to a private limited company owned and operated by the Hassan family. The court emphasized that Baig’s involvement in the case was unwarranted as he holds no shares or legal stake in the family’s assets.

Despite Nazia Hassan’s divorce from Baig prior to her passing, Baig has consistently maintained that he remained married to her at the time of her death. He has also filed multiple petitions challenging the authenticity of their divorce, arguing that the divorce certificate issued by the Government of Sindh was illegitimate.

However, all his previous legal attempts to invalidate the divorce have been dismissed by family and district courts.
