A special court established under the Official Secrets Act 2023 has imposed a ban on airing and sharing of the cypher case proceedings on mainstream and social media.
Nothing will be broadcast on print, electronic, and social media, the court ruled, adding that Pemra and PTA are directed to pass on the court directives.
Violators will face the music under the Official Secrets Act, it maintained, adding that a copy of the court order should be provided to Pemra and PTA.
The prosecution’s request for an in-camera trial of the case is granted and the former chairman of PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s family will be present conditionally, stated the order, adding that family members will not discuss the court proceedings anywhere.
