Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Local Government Kamran Khan Bangash has said that the recovery rate of Corona patients in the province has reached 71%, On the other hand, positive cases rate has come down from 25% to 15%.
He expressed these views while briefing media at Directorate of Information and Public Relations. He said that corona cases were on the rise during the last two months but now steps taken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government, health department and people’s cooperation, the number of corona patients have been decreasing day by day.
He said that the provincial government has conducted 5,000 tests in areas with a population of one million and provided timely medical facilities to corona patients.
He said that the manner in which the entire nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan fought the Corona epidemic was commendable and the whole nation deserved praise.
“Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics staff are our front line heroes who are risking their lives to provide medical care to patients” Kamran added. He said that Dr. Faisal Sultan, Focal Person of the Prime Minister for COVID19 and Interior Minister Ejaz Shah had appreciated the steps taken for COVID19 by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and expressed satisfaction over the situation so far.
Meanwhile Smart lockdown has been extended in 18 more areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital, Peshawar on Thursday after increase in the coronavirus cases. According to a report sent to the Chief Secretary KP, 126 coronavirus patients have been reported in the 18 affected areas, while 43,300 citizens are trapped inside their homes.
