Corona death toll jumps to 1101

Pakistan confirmed 34 more deaths from novel coronavirus in one day as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 1,101 and positive cases surged to 53,601 on Saturday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center, 1,743 persons have been tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours.
Till now 18,730 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 21,645 in Sindh, 7,685 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,306 in Balochistan, 1,457 in Islamabad, 607 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 171 in Azad Kashmir.
The Punjab health department has decided to grant Eid holidays to staff working at labs carrying out coronavirus testing in order to give them “much-needed rest”, according to Azhar Mashwani, the focal person on digital media to the Punjab chief minister. Punjab has reported 275 new coronavirus cases, taking the provincial tally to 18,730, according to a situation report released by the province’s Directorate of General Health.
