Principal PGMI/AMC Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar on the start of New Year distributed thousands of face masks among the patients and their attendants at Lahore General Hospital for providing awareness, information about Corona to them.
MS LGH Dr. Abdul Razzaq, Dr. Jaffar Shah, Dr. Abdul Aziz, Nursing Supervisor Anwar Sultana, President Para Medical staff Association Rana Pervez and other employees were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the citizens, Prof. Al-freed Zafar said that now there is no doubt that corona virus has changed our lifestyle and we are in the same situation that we have to learn the art of living with this epidemic for which it is necessary for the citizens to make the precautionary measures their motto.
Talking to the media persons, he said that it would be better to have only one attendant with the patient coming to the hospital so that the spread of Corona could be stopped and doctors, nurses and paramedics would not face any difficulty. He said that the coronavirus was spreading rapidly due to unnecessary rush but the situation was not improving due to repeated insistence and non-compliance with SOPs and blowing up precautionary measures. He said that in contrary to the directions of medical experts, general public is not aware of the seriousness of this epidemic.
Principal PGMI thanked Allah Almighty that Pakistan is not facing a situation like Europe and the US if we do not fully understand the nature of this situation and take required measures our country may also face a serious condition which we cannot afford. He added that the country’s economy was also suffering due to the lockdown, so citizens should fully comply with the SOPs issued by the medical experts to prevent corona and support the Government in prevention of Covid-19.
