WE all communicate, but how many of us connect while we communicate? Well, it depends, in today’s fast life people hardly give head to a message till it connects you with the sender more emotionally and when it triggers the release of some good hormones inside you. Connecting is an art, and this can be developed by taking care of a few important things regarding the message and the type of audience. 2021 is all about making the right connections. The world is squeezing more due to virtual exposure as a result of the global pandemic [Covid-19]; hence it has expanded the market for both buyers and sellers. The game will be in the hands of those who will make more and the right connection.
Whether you are in any business or any relation, it is the chemistry that determines the depth and success of your communication. No matter you much of an introvert or an extrovert you are at some point in your life you have to deal with the people. Almost in every situation communication is a must, in professional life the ability to communicate, convince and relate to customers, teammates, employees or a boss is a highly effective personality trait and one which is in demand the most as well and it can determine your future and defines your success. In your personal life, communication with your partner, children, parents and friends will determine your relationship and bring satisfaction.
Understand the personality and the need of the other person. There must always be some common ground and interest area where you can feel the connection can build up. You need to be emotionally intelligent to match your strength with others’ needs. You need to be patient and a good listener and an observer to find out the string that can attach you to the receiver. By developing empathy, you can understand behaviours, views and values far removed from your own and you can also experience the emotional state of another. Empathy involves the ability to resonate with the other person’s feelings. It’s all about what they feel.
Be confident about the selection of your words and tone. Selection of the right words with the right tone can only be possible if you have understood the personality type and you are knowledgeable enough to play with the strings confidently to produce soothing music that connects you well. Your body language plays an important role, it is not always your words but the eye connection, movement of your body and hand movement while emphasizing something, and even the way you walk makes another person connect with you more.
People connect to those they trust the most. Work to develop a trustworthy relationship to connect well. That can only be possible when they know you mean what you say and you will keep your words. When they know you won’t lie and you will maintain integrity. Sometimes connection takes time to build, so keep connecting to have a good connection. You need to invest your time and energy to meet the real chemistry.
Connect through your Passion. Not always people share the same passion but your journey and your unique story may trigger that connection that you need. How you start your journey and where you have gotten now may bring new ideas for them. They will connect with you more when they know you are a source of inspiration for them. They will look forward to new thoughts and new ways to improve their journey.
Your small stories of failure and learning can give confidence to others that failure is part of a journey. They will rely upon and trust you more and will open up that will help you to understand their personality and define the right ways to communicate with them by taking care of their norms and emotions. It is easy to communicate but difficult to communicate effectively if not connected well. Therefore, it is important to find out a connection in communication to be more successful in both personal and professional life.
