In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement and Jammu and Kashmir National Front have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of renowned Pakistani nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan and former AJK President and Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan.
In a condolence statement issued in Srinagar, today, DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal while referring to peerless contribution and indomitable role Dr. A Q Khan played in making Pakistan a nuclear State said that Khan was amongst pioneering nuclear scientists who contributed significantly towards making the country’s defense invincible.
Paying rich tributes to ex-AJK premier Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, the spokesman said that Khan was a strong proponent of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
The Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement Chairman Mir Shahid Saleem in a statement in Jammu while condoling the death of Sardar Sikandar Hayat said he was great champion of democracy and human rights. He said his contribution towards the Kashmir cause would always be remembered.
He said people on the both sides of the Line of Control were shocked to receive the news of his death. Mir Shahid Saleem said people of the Pirpanchal region were closely associated with the political family of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Karelvi, the late father of Sardar Sikander Hayat Khan.
Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) spokesman Shafiq-ur-Rehaman highlighted Dr. AQ Khan’s unprecedented role in making Pakistan a nuclear country.
He also paid tributes to former Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan. Extending his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families, Rehman prayed to Allah Almighty for grant of eternal peace to the departed souls.—KMS
