LAHORE – The city administration has imposed a complete ban on use of fireworks in territorial jurisdiction of Lahore district on New Year’s Eve in order to combat smog.
Environment Protection Agency Director General Imran Hamid Sheikh has issued a notification in this regard, warning that any contradiction of the order shall be punished under section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code.
The ban has been imposed with immediate effect and will remain in place till January 31, 2025, the notification said.
