Commissioner Rawalpindi directs to boost drug control activities

Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer AamirKhattak has directed to increase drug control activities. He said health commissions should be made active and private hospitals should also be monitored with their collaboration.

While chairing the Divisional Coordination Committee meeting here on Tuesday, he said that nothing was more important than human health and such people who risk this blessing for their petty profit do not deserve any sympathy.

Engr. AamirKhattak also directed to provide clean drinking water to the public by ensuring cleanliness of all filtration plants in the Division and by keep them in working condition.

He directed that the environment department should make all newly setup industrial units or housing societies to comply with the commitment of environmental protection regulations.

Likewise, they all should ensure presence of their own disposal stations.

Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi HasanWaqarCheema, Additional Commissioner Coordination Syed Nazarat Ali, Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority KinzaMurtaza and other concerned officers participated in the meeting held at Commissioner Office Rawalpindi.

While giving a briefing on the daily performance on this occasion, Commissioner Rawalpindi was apprised that during the last 24 hours zero wall chalking has been ensured on the 7.2 km long walls of a total of 178 Urban, Rural Union Councils and Municipal Corporations across the division. Apart from this, 423 out of the total 428 filtration plants across the division were made operational and their proper cleaning and safety arrangements have been ensured. Along with this, 1442 of the 1473 complaints received about health facilities by the Special Branch have been resolved.

It was further stated that Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner were also making regular visits to the medical centers and checking the presence of doctors, availability of required medicines and other necessary matters so that the patients can be provided with the best treatment.
