The Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani has directed the KMC and Solid Waste Management to work together in coordinated efforts to all concerned departments and agencies to implement the contingency plan and ensure cleanliness and de-siliting of all Nallahs of the city prior to monsoon.
This he observed while holding a high level meeting to review the arrangements of Monsoon at his office on Wednesday.
Respective DCs has apprised their district wise progress, as per contingency plan, coordinated efforts with all stakeholders, Pak army has briefed about their plan and arrangements made prior to monsoon and has offered their technical support and assistance to provide basic training and refresher courses of Provincial government officials. KMC has informed that Prior to monsoon all Nallahs were cleaned and if required it will be further taken accordingly.
PDMA, DMCs and KW&SB has also briefed about their arrangements prior to monsoon. The Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani has urged upon all DCs and other officials to play their due role to implement the plan prior to monsoon, it’s the primarily duty of the DCs to coordinate and liaison with all, to face any emergency and challenge during monsoon. He further said that all Nallahs would be cleaned and any kind of encroachments over Nallahs will also be removed immediately.
