Come We Are Waiting For You Iran Issues Defiant Response To Trump Kharg Island Threat

TEHRAN – Iranian officials have responded sharply to reported remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump threatening to target Iran’s Kharg Island, warning that Tehran is prepared to confront any military action.

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, issued a brief but defiant response, saying, “Come, we are waiting for you.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also condemned Trump’s remarks, stating that offensive language directed at the Iranian nation would not undermine its dignity or resolve.

“The civilized and courageous Iranian nation is known for its culture, civility, and strong moral values,” Araghchi said. “We do not respond to insults with insults, but with courage, resilience, and decisive action.”

Trump had earlier warned that the United States had previously carried out strikes on Iran in response to attacks on commercial vessels, adding that any similar incident in the future would prompt an even stronger military response.

Meanwhile, Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, warned that the United States and its allies would face severe consequences if they launched any attack against Iran.

Separately, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington was based on the fulfilment of commitments rather than mutual trust. He accused the United States of escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and reaffirmed that Iran would take all necessary measures to protect its national interests.
