PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday announced an extension in winter vacations for all public and private colleges and universities due to intensifying cold wave.
The Higher Education Department of the province has issued a notification, saying winter break will be observed till January 5 with all colleges and universities reopening on Jan 6 (Monday).
Previously, the department had announced the winter holidays till December 31 for the educational institutions.
A day earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday extended winter vacations for all public and private educational institutions in Summer Zones.
A notification shared by Elementary & Secondary Education Department said the winter break will now continue until January 6, 2025. The decision has been made in response to the ongoing winter season, ensuring that students and staff in the Summer Zones can benefit from additional rest and respite.
The notification affects both public and private schools across the province. This extension aims to align with the regional climate conditions and supports the well-being of students during the colder months.
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has extended winter vacations for all public and private schools in the province’s Summer Zones until January 6, 2025, due to the ongoing cold weather. The break will continue until this date, with schools resuming on January 7, 2025.
The decision aims to ensure students’ well-being during the winter season. Relevant government officials have been informed, and parents and schools are advised to adjust their schedules accordingly.
