CM’s efforts for uplift of Waziristan lauded

The office bearers of Insaf Students’ Federation (ISF) Monday expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan for approving multi-nature development schemes for the uplift of the tribal district South Waziristan.

Talking to media persons here at the District Press Club Tank, provincial joint secretary ISF Abdul Wasih Mahsood and others said that the erstwhile South Waziristan Agency was completely neglected by the previous government and the merger of the tribal areas into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a milestone by the incumbent government towards a new era of development in the tribal districts.

Abdul Wasih noted that multi-sector development projects including water supply tube wells, renovation and up gradation of health and education facilities and numerous other initiatives to uplift the livelihood of the tribesmen were approved by the chief minister Mahmood Khan and completion of these development projects worth billions would bring a long lasting development and prosperity in South Waziristan, he maintained.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Hameedullah Khan Afridi has appealed to the public to ensure compliance of set Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and cooperate with district administration to control the new spike of COVID-19.

Talking during an awareness session about the novel CoronaVirus here at the office of the deputy commissioner, Hameedullah Afridi urged the masses to adopt all precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The session was attended by a large number of civil, political and social figures.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Shoukat Iqbal also spoke on the occasion and shed light over the pros of social distancing, avoidance of hand shake and sanitization to mitigate the escalation of Covid-19.
