Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday vehemently condemned the nefarious campaign of defaming state institutions, reiterating the government pledge to counter all such conspiracies and no compromise will be made on the dignity of state institutions.
According to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday and discussed political situation and south Punjab secretariat. MNA Zain Qureshi was also present. On the occasion, the CM emphasized that the institutions are respectable for all of us and it is deplorable that these are being tarnished under a specific agenda. Those trying to create chaos in the country are, in fact, following the enemy’s agenda and the opposition cannot befool the people.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi asserted that the government will continue to stand with the institutions and those engaged in a tirade against the institutions are not loyal to the nation. The opposition is trying to achieve its negative objectives by making the institutions controversial, he added. He said the establishment of south Punjab secretariat is an important step of the PTI government as the people of south Punjab were befooled in the past through hollow slogans. The past rulers used the funds meant for south Punjab’s development in their constituencies.
Meanwhile, the chief minister visited different areas of the city late at night and inspected the metro bus route from Qaddafi Stadium to Qurtaba Chowk. He expressed displeasure over the closure of lights at some metro stations and directed to keep the lights functional at metro bus route. He also directed that action be initiated against the staff responsible for this neglect.
