CM briefed about upgradation of Head Balloki barrage

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited Head Balloki Barrage where he reviewed the situation of arrival and discharge of water. The chief minister was briefed about the restoration and upgradation program of Head Balloki. He was also briefed about the water situation at Head 2. Embankments of Head Balloki Barrage and rivers have been strengthened before the flood threats.
He said water level should be monitored in rivers 24 hours. He said water discharge capacity of Head Balloki has been increased due to its restoration and upgradation and now this barrage has the capacity to discharge three lakh and eighty thousand Cusec of floodwater.
He said water level is being monitored at rivers of Jhelum, Chenab and Sindh round the clock.
He directed that the land eroded due to the change in the course of rivers should be estimated. An effective planning and strategy should be made to control the erosion of land in Jhang, Muzaffargarh, Rahimyar Khan, Layyah and Dera Gjazi Khan. He said the plan to setup museum at Head Balloki Barrage should be completed immediately. The people will be able to easily get information due to the establishment of Public Information Centre at the barrage.
The chief minister said the government has approved the Water Act and the implementation of this act will help control the wastage of water.
He said he will also visit other barrages of the province. The secretary irrigation briefed the chief minister on the water input and discharge at the barrage.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that opposition parties have no power to hold protest and remove the chairman Senate.
The opposition is restless to come to the power. The rejected elements should remember that well aware people of Pakistan have rejected their negative politics. The call for Black Day has been rejected by the people and this fact is very clear.
He said the people of Pakistan do not want the politics of unrest in Pakistan. The nation has complete faith in the government of PTI under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The opponents have no agenda to move the country forward and these elements are working on personal agenda. New Pakistan will progress under new vision and new ideology.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of the widow of former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family he expressed his heartfelt condolences and prayed that Allah Almighty rest departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with strength.
