Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was accorded a rousing reception by the citizens on his arrival at Jahanian.
The zeal and fervour of the public was worth a spectacle due to the visit of any Chief Minister Punjab after a lapse of 33 years in Jahanian.
CM Parvez Elahi visited Jahanian twice 33 years ago in the capacity of being provincial Local Government Minister.
The Chief Minister played a significant role by dint of his political prudence to clinch triumph in the bye- election. Portraits of CM Parvez Elahi were prominently being displayed in the city. More than 10 thousand chairs were being set in the Chaudhry Parvez Elahi Cricket Stadium Jahanian and not a single inch space was vacant in the stadium.
The Chief Minister was accorded a warm reception on reaching the stadium and the people present in the gathering gave a standing ovation to their adored leader. The whole stadium chanted with the slogans of CM Parvez Elahi zindabad.
The CM replied to the slogans by waving his hands.
The citizens of Jahanian remarked that Jahanian is entering into the journey of progress during the tenure of CM Parvez Elahi. Ealier, when the CM reached Kacha Khoo of Jahanian then Advisor to CM Ayaz Khan Niazi, Syed Fakhar Imam and Pir Zahoor Hussain Qureshi accorded him a warm welcome.
The Chief Minister also met with the notables of the area.
