City condition cannot be improved without its full share: Mayor

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said he has been informing whole country since three years that resources of KMC were withheld and the city condition cannot be improved if Karachi not gets its full share. I had written a letter to the federal government during recent rains to help Karachi, now we have to see how the federal minister, Ali Zaidi help us.
He said this while speaking in the closing ceremony of the Summer Camp held in the KMC Sport Complex on Saturday. Captain of the national cricket team Sarfaraz Ahmed and a good number of school children and their parents were present in this program.
The camp was attended by 200 children and continued for two months. Swimming, gymnastics and football training was also given to the young players and the best performers received the shield and medal.
Later while talking to media Mayor Karachi said that the local bodies have the infrastructure and only needs financial resources. The city can be cleaned completely if these resources are provided. He said that I said before the water commission that we have no resources to clean the drains.
We received Rs50 crore for cleaning of drain on the order of the Supreme Court and its audit was already submitted to the secretary local government office, still Sindh government has to pay us Rs70billion which it withheld. He said that the sports coverage should be increased in media so that the young talent could be encouraged more.
He said that KMC in its limited resources making all efforts to provide better health and sports facilities to people and the two-month long summer camp was also part of this.The national cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed appreciated KMC for providing good sports facilities to children.
He said it was good to see that Karachi being cleaned jointly and this is a good decision. He also congratulated the mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar and his team to provide well standard sports facilities to students.
