The Punjab government has initiated contacts with member of the disgruntled Jahangir Tareen group on Friday.
As per details, the spokesperson for the Punjab government, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has been tasked with wooing the disgruntled members of Jahangir Tareen group.
According to a private TV channel, in this context, Chohan has contacted provincial minister Ajmal Cheema, Abdul Hameed Dasti and Khurram Leghari and asked them to stop anti-government statements from their side.
He said that all assembly members are united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It is to be noted that the pro-Jahangir Tareen lawmakers’ group emerged after Jahangir Khan Tareen and his son were booked in a money laundering case by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Earlier in the month of May, the group had reached an agreement with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government and had voted for the party in the NA and Punjab Assembly during budget sessions.
The channel quoting sources, said that the agreement was reached after senior ministers contacted the disgruntled leader of the ruling party Jahangir Khan Tareen.
The Punjab government, on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan, has given a special task to its spokesman Fayyazul Hassan Chohan to reach out to members of the ‘estranged’ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) group in order to address their concerns.
Quoting sources, the channel reported that Chohan had already started holding meetings with members of the JKT group.
In this connection, they said that the provincial government spokesman had so far met with Abdul Hayi Dasti and Sardar Khurrum Laghari.
Sources further said that Chohan would try to convince members of the ‘estranged’ PTI leader group to make themselves bound by the party discipline.
They would also be given assurances that issues of their constituencies would be resolved on a priority basis, they explained.
The TV channel also claimed that Chohan will also meet with other members of the JKT group step by step, and they will later meet him in the form of a group.
