ISLAMABAD – Chinese company has instructed its employees to resume work on an extension project of Tarbela Dam days after five Chinese engineers were killed in a suicide attack in Besham tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla.
The Power Construction Corporation of China Ltd has issued a circular in this regard, a development that has exposed the Indian propaganda against Islamabad-Beijing friendly ties.
The circular dated March 28 states, “…all the Site workers and office staff will be back to work after such short time suspension”.
Earlier, China’s foreign ministry had announced that bilateral cooperated with Pakistan and work on CPEC projects will continue.
“China will continue to develop bilateral cooperation and promote the second phase of CPEC with high-quality development in collaboration with Pakistan,” read the Chinese ministry’s previous statement.
Following the terrorist attack in Besham, the Indian media reported that Chinese company had halted civil works at a hydropower plant in Pakistan.
On Wednesday, a suicide bombing targeted five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver in Besham, KP.
