KARACHI – The wave of price hikes in Pakistan’s auto market shows no signs of slowing. After the big three revised their rates in the wake of higher sales tax on hybrid vehicles, Chery now followed suit by raising prices of its plug-in hybrid SUVs by up to Rs2Million.
While the company introduced limited-time promotional offer to soften the blow, buyers will eventually have to pay the full revised prices once the campaign ends. Instead of immediately passing entire tax burden on to customers, the company rolled out limited-time offer that partially cushions the increase.
The relief is only temporary, as the company already announced higher official prices that will take effect once the promotion expires. Under the revised pricing, the Tiggo 7 PHEV has increased from Rs9.499 million to a promotional price of Rs9.999 million, while its regular post-promotion price has been set at Rs10.949 million.

Tiggo 8 PHEV now carries a promotional price of Rs11.499 million, up from Rs11.299 million, with its final official price fixed at Rs12.999 million after the offer ends.
Meanwhile, the flagship Tiggo 9 PHEV has seen its promotional price climb from Rs13.694 million to Rs14.299 million, while buyers will eventually have to pay Rs15.749 million once the promotional campaign concludes.
Fronx Prices
Earlier this week, Pak Suzuki ended its limited-time promotional offer on the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid lineup, restoring the vehicles to their regular retail prices. As a result, both hybrid variants have become Rs700,000–Rs700,001 more expensive, pushing their prices above the Rs7 million mark.
Fronx GLX 6A/T Mono Tone is now priced at Rs7,000,000, while the GLX 6A/T Two Tone costs Rs7,075,000. During the promotional campaign, the two variants were available at Rs6,699,999 and Rs6,774,999, respectively, after a temporary discount of Rs300,001.
According to Pak Suzuki, the discounted rates were valid only for a limited period and a limited number of units. With the promotion now over, the company has reinstated the standard prices. Prices of non-hybrid Fronx variants remain unchanged.
