Advisor to CM on Information and Home Omer Sarfraz Cheema has said that the role of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has always been pivotal in the development on the economic front. A strong economy and political stability go hand in hand. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has always prioritized development of the country and promotion of the industrial sector. Due to unfavorable economic policies at Federal level, foreign remittances, GDP and exports fell to a record low.
These views were expressed by Omer Sarfraz Cheema on the occasion of his visit to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Coordinator Prisons department Samina Khawar Hayat, IG Prisons Malik Mubashir Ahmed Khan and Superintendent Camp Jail Lahore Ali Akbar also accompanied him. President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashif Anwar welcomed the delegation. On this occasion, it was decided to form a standing committee consisting of representatives of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Prisons Department to facilitate the provision of employment to educated and skilled prisoners after their release.
LCCI members also announced payment of fines for indigent prisoners. Omer Sarfraz Cheema further said that we are determined that no indigent should remain in jail due to non-payment of fines. He said that today industrialists and workers are surrounded by difficulties due to the incompetence of the Federal government.
PTI’s demand for early elections is to save the country from further troubles. Omer Sarfraz Cheema said that due to the absence of economic reforms, the federation has lost its credibility; a government with fresh mandate is the need of the hour. Despite the experience of being in power for decades, the PDM gang has failed miserably in revitalising the national economy, Cheema stated.
